Preventative Recare Visits

Recare Visits

Once the completion of any type of restorative, prosthetic or cosmetic treatment is done in our office, you will be placed into our regular recare program.  These are regularly scheduled examination and maintenance visits - once or twice per year - as a preventative measure for the dental work specifically provided by Dr. Tsikoudakis.  During these visits, although Dr. Tsikoudakis does closely examine the dental work specifically provided by him, he also provides a thorough full mouth exam, as well.

Because we are a specialty dental office, we do not have a dental hygienist on staff.  Therefore, Dr. Tsikoudakis encourages you to also maintain regular cleanings, dental exams and x-rays in your general dentist's office, in addition to the regular recare visits in our office.  If you do not have a general dentist, we can help you find one.

A preventive program involving all members of your dental team (i.e., your general dentist, hygienist, prosthodontist, and any other dental specialists necessary for your overall care) is necessary to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions.

Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet.  It is continued in the dental office by the efforts of your entire dental team to promote, restore, and maintain your oral health.

Prevention helps avoid serious and costly dental problems and is the key to having a healthy, confident, beautiful smile.
